In celebration of the first-ever NASCAR Chicago Street Race, a Next Gen Ford Mustang stock car has been transformed into a mobile masterpiece hand-painted by an organization of talented local artists, Paint the City. The mural was designed to serve as a reflection of the rich history and culture of Chicago as well as to foster harmony and inclusivity within the community. The car started to undergo its major makeover during the weekend of the NASCAR Chicago Street Race in July 2023 and was completed during the 94th annual Bud Billiken Parade in August 2023. In addition to the community connection, the Next Gen race car was developed by NASCAR in collaboration with the brightest engineering minds in racing. The design of the car has given drivers greater control while putting an emphasis on race strategies, team personnel and setups. The NASCAR Next Gen 2023 Ford Mustang will be on display in Entry Hall at Griffin MSI through June 2025.
