This discount is available when redeeming the free General Admission offer online or in person at Museum ticket counters.
City of Chicago residents receive a discount on General Admission: $9 off for adults and $5 off for children (ages 3-11).
Illinois school groups on registered field trips, as well as Illinois homeschool groups and families, receive free General Admission.*
Illinois residents who are library cardholders at participating RAILS and IHLS public libraries can reserve free or discounted admission to Griffin MSI and many other attractions statewide. To see details and claim this offer, have your library card ready and visit the Explore More Illinois portal.
Griffin MSI offers free General Admission* to individuals and families—regardless of state residency—through the Museums for All program. Present an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card or a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) card, along with a photo ID to receive free General Admission* tickets for up to two adults and up to six children (under 18). To reserve advance tickets, call (773) 684-1414 and mention Museums for All for fast, contactless admission when you arrive.
Members of an Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) institution located more than 90 miles from Griffin MSI are eligible for free General Admission* for up to two adults and two children under 18 who reside in the same household (also at least 90 miles from Griffin MSI). One adult must be a member cardholder. Present your science center's membership card with an ASTC logo, along with a photo ID, at Museum ticket counters to redeem. Advance reservations are not available for reciprocal admission.
