Goodnight Moon

Beloved Bedtime Classic, Goodnight Moon, Comes to Life at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry

CHICAGO — Griffin Museum of Science and Industry invites visitors to experience Goodnight Moon like never before. Inspired by Margaret Wise Brown’s timeless story and Clement Hurd’s iconic illustrations, this immersive experience surrounds visitors with the sights, sounds and characters of the world they know from the book. The exhibition opens in Griffin Studio on Thursday, Nov. 5 and closes on Sunday, Jan. 3, running concurrently with Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light.

Guests begin the Goodnight Moon experience by learning about the science of sleep, discovering more about dreams, nightmares, lunar cycles and how astronauts sleep in the microgravity of space before entering the main exhibit space. They can then step inside the story’s iconic Great Green Room, surrounded by digital imagery, sound and interactive technology. There, guests can digitally paint the story scene around them before settling in for a story time unlike any other.

Goodnight Moon combines digital projection, interactive technology, art and storytelling to transform a familiar bedtime story into an immersive experience for the whole family.

Goodnight Moon was created by Supply + Demand Studio in collaboration with HarperCollins Publishers.
