About YOU! The Experience
Your future
Explore the Your Future section of YOU! The Experience to discover and consider what's in store as you grow, develop and mature. Learn how the body continually renews itself over time, and the way in which your voice, vision and brain will change. It's also an opportunity to look back on your life thus far, and look ahead to what you hope to achieve. Featured Exhibits:
Use your interests and dreams to set a life "to do" list you can store and manage online.

Your beginning
An important element of who you are is how you got here. It's a journey of transformation that we all have in common, begun as a meeting of cells and completed as the planet's newest arrival. View the marvels of early human development in the Your Beginning section of YOU! The Experience. Enter a theater space where you are taken inside the womb for the amazing journey from conception to birth. Recommended Links

Your Appetite
Our food – whether it's how much, what kind, or from where – can seem at times to dominate the news. Take a step back from hype and hysteria to think objectively about Your Appetite in this section of YOU! The Experience. You'll focus on becoming conscious of what you eat, and learn more about how you make your choices about food. Featured Exhibits
How does your snacking stack up against the rest of the pack? Compare your food consumption to other Museum guests and to recommended diets.

Your Heart
The biological and metaphorical importance of our hearts is woven into the Your Heart section of YOU! The Experience. It features the physical and emotional center of the entire exhibit: our stunning Giant Heart. Reinterpreted for the 21st century, the iconic Museum favorite returns as a 13-foot tall, three-dimensional animation showing multiple views of the heart's interior and exterior activity. Interact with the Giant Heart by sending it your pulse, and the heart will beat in time with your own.

Your Mind
The mind is truly the center of your life; processing and interpreting every moment of your experience. It is the main generator of the thoughts, emotions and decisions that can affect your health in big and subtle ways. In the Your Mind section of YOU! The Experience, explore some of the ways your brain interacts with the world around you. Featured Exhibits
Playing a 3-D game of catch or rotating a virtual brain to find its various learning centers.

Your Vitality
Quality of life affects both your mind and body, and in the Your Vitality section of YOU! The Experience, the topic is optimizing your health and well-being. Explore ideas of happiness, and just try to resist the contagious Laugh Garden. Challenge your brain to a game of competitive relaxation, then enjoy a little couch-potato time as you watch funny videos on the importance of sleep. Featured Exhibits
Win a war of relaxation in this two-player game where you have to try to “out-relax” your opponent in order to win.

Medical Innovation
One of the keys to improving health and longevity is the ever-advancing field of medicine. The Medical Innovations section of YOU! The Experience showcases some of the latest breakthroughs, celebrates the innovative thinking that will shape our future care, and sparks some thought-provoking dialogue about the role of medical technology in our lives. Featured Exhibits
Watch the story of a double-amputee who now has a bionic arm controlled by his brain.

iStan
He could be the best actor in YOU! The Experience, but he'll never take a bow. It's iStan®, the Human Patient Simulator, a computerized mannequin designed to exhibit the realistic symptoms of medical crises. Students in facilitated Learning Lab sessions can play the roles of medical specialists, measuring his vital signs to diagnose problems, administering treatments and analyzing the results. The iStan sessions take place in the YOU! Lab, a flexible and functional educational space.
Students can work hands-on with iStan and complete real medical tests to diagnose an illness.
