Meet the people behind the science.
About Jr. Science Cafés
Give students the chance to connect directly with the people shaping today’s world. Jr. Science Cafés create space for real conversations with scientists, engineers, artists and innovators, helping students see how curiosity grows into meaningful work.
Through interactive dialogue and guided activities, students explore what STE(A)M professionals actually do, how different pathways lead into these fields and how their own interests can connect to future possibilities. Each session reinforces a powerful truth: there is no single path into STE(A)M and everyone belongs in science.
Jr. Science Café sessions
Throughout the year, Jr. Science Cafés highlight voices and themes that reflect the communities students are part of, including:
- Black Creativity Jr. Science and Art Cafés, presented alongside the Black Creativity program in February
- Women in STE(A)M Cafés, celebrating Women’s History Month in March
- Bilingual sessions in October during Hispanic Heritage Month.
These sessions are designed to spark imagination, build awareness of STE(A)M careers and help students envision themselves as future innovators.
