The Science desk of The New York Times comes to Griffin MSI for a special event about the mysteries of the cosmos and the visual riches of science journalism. To expand your mind, ponder the expanding cosmos. Katrina Miller, a space and physics reporter for The Times, will talk to Dr. Wendy Freedman of the University of Chicago about her work on the expansion rate of the universe — a subject with mind-bending implications for our understanding of the Big Bang, the nature of “dark energy” and the universe’s ultimate fate. Also: The Times’s photo editor for science, Matt McCann, will give a presentation about the wonders and challenges of using imagery to bring a world of discovery to readers. Guests will also hear from Museum President and CEO Dr. Chevy Humphrey. This event is free with General Admission on Nov. 1.
