About the workshop
This full day workshop demystifies how motivation and engagement work — and don’t work — in school settings, giving you research-validated tools to cultivate the seeds of motivation and engagement that exist within all your students. Supportive, collaborative work time during the session will leave you with concrete plans for your classroom. This workshop allows participants to:
- Start planning or modifying lessons to increase motivation and engagement with their students, using resources provided during the workshop
- Understand how designing activities that support internal motivation leads to student engagement
- Recognize the importance of personal relevance to enhance students’ motivation and engagement
The concepts and strategies explored will be applicable to all disciplines and all grade levels. Knowledge gained may be useful for participants who are providing professional learning opportunities for teachers in their schools or districts. Continuing Education hours will be provided for Illinois Educators.
